Why should you adopt?

5,000 Animal SHELTERS Nationwide – there is an average of
5 million companion animals TAKEN IN annually of which
3.5 million are EUTHANIZED and never make it out.

= 9,589 ANIMALS ARE PUT DOWN A DAY!!!

This research (shown in part) was conducted by Statistic Brain, April 2017

Why Adopt From Us?

Because we do it right…

When we receive a new animal here at BRRARI, be it pet or farm animal, they are treated as part of our family. They learn what it is like to be in a safe, loving and caring environment. They are socialized and given the care they need.  We work with each animal individually on any issues they may have. Sometimes it only takes a couple weeks, other times it can go as long as a year. We will not adopt out any animal that we feel is not ready or does not fit into the family/environment of a potential adopter. We are about the animals, we are here for them, not a quick turnover. Tours of our facility are available by appointment only.

Adoption Process For House Pets

Requirements

  • Dogs living in your home must be current on their annual and rabies vaccinations.
  • Dogs living in your home must be spayed/neutered.
  • Adoption Application must be filled out (can be found online @ www.brrari.org).
  • Photos of living arrangements for dogs must be provided. This includes fencing, outside housing/shelter, etc.
  • If adopting a puppy under 8 weeks old, a $50 hold deposit is required. The puppy will then be housed at our facility. At 8 weeks, when the puppy is ready, you will be able to pick him/her up. Before pick up day, your puppy will have been seen by a BRRARI vet and given their 1st shots. You will be responsible for their rabies vaccinations at 4 months. A vaccination schedule will be included in your adoption packet. You will also be responsible for having your dog spayed/neutered at 6 months. The adoption fee includes a $50 deposit which is returned to you when providing proof (receipt of procedure) from your vet.

Adoption Information

  • Adopting instead of Buying a pet?

You have decided it is time to add to your family. Only now, it will be a four legged furry member. Animal Shelters and Rescues are full of loving, healthy, wonderful animals just waiting to go to their forever home. In the United States alone, each year an average of 2.7 million dogs and cats are euthanized because of the lack of space. This number can be reduced dramatically if more people would step up and adopt instead of buying. Adopting a Shelter/Rescue animal will make room for another desperately in need of a home. Most of these animals are in shelters because of a family situation such as a divorce or relocation. By adopting an animal you are helping to solve the problem of homeless pets in the United States.

  • What areas do you serve?

Douglas, Boulder, Vail, Colorado Springs, Denver, Aurora, Longmont, Centennial, Loveland, Englewood, and surrounding areas.

  • What is the adoption process?

After the Adoption Application, there will be a “Meet and Greet” meeting with the animal, a property inspection with pictures, a reference check, and if approved, an Adoption Contract will be signed. An Animal Vet Check will be administered before pick up. See our Adoption Fees section for more information about pricing. We do have adoption events occasionally in the surrounding areas of Franktown. Adopters are allowed to visit animals “By Appointment Only”.
